Studying the vocabulary of reggaeton song lyrics

Abstract This paper studies the lyrics of reggaeton songs. Reggaeton is a popular genre nowadays, especially among young people. Its songs contain very rich and sometimes surprising vocabulary. That was reason for choosing this topic: to understand their lyrics. Thus purpose discover meaning words used in genre, clarify main vocabulary characteristics point out differences between Spanish spoken Latin America Spain. In analysis, specialized dictionaries were reveal particular expressions. Attention paid expressions which are different from European as well English borrowings (anglicisms).
